Shasta College is a leader in Northstate higher education and part of the largest community college system in the world.
Shasta College is a leader in higher education in California. The college won the highly selective Innovation in Higher Education award three times for programs that help students succeed in completing their certificate, degree, or transfer to a university. Shasta College was one of 15 California community colleges selected to offer a bachelor’s degree program in 2015 and celebrated its first graduating class in 2018. In 2016 Measure H, a $139 million general obligation bond, was passed by local voters allowing the district to build new facilities and renovate existing structures. In 2017 Shasta College received the ACCJC reaffirming accreditation for a full seven years with 16 commendations.
Shasta College offers a wide range of programs and services, including counseling, tutoring, financial aid, performing arts and athletic events, student activities, veterans’ services, cultural events, lecture series, workshops, and art exhibits. With five campus locations, we offer over 100 degrees and certificates.
Shasta College is surrounded by millions of acres of outdoor recreational opportunities, including Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Lassen Volcanic National Park, McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, Mt. Shasta, Lake Shasta, Trinity and Sacramento Rivers, and the Trinity Alps. With over 300 days of sunshine, Redding is the 2nd sunniest city in the U.S.
