How you’ll make an impact:
We are seeking a talented, driven Associate Director, Software Engineering to join our growing team. In this role you will be managing a team of individual contributors pertaining to a very high-performing engineering team, responsible of designing, collaborating and executing the roadmap involving the AIS and AIS as Managed Service products.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
What you’ll do:
Lead and mentor a growing team (10+) of Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Quality Engineers
Collaborate with Product Leads to develop a strategic vision and roadmap for the Audio Streaming Server
Drive operational excellence by prioritizing the team’s work, executing projects, communicating and tracking progress, identifying risks
Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration
Collaborate with the Product team to clarify the scope and timelines of the projects
Collaborate with the Global Operations teams to ensure flawless deployments in production and provide support to the L1/L2/L3 teams
Lead and grow a team of high-performing engineers
Work with a team of engineers building software in a collaborative development process
Build high-performance, stable, scalable systems to be deployed in an enterprise setting
Lead high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions
Provide mentoring and coaching for other engineers
What you’ll need to do the job:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience, in lieu of degree.
5+ years leading software engineering teams in a technical organization.
Proven ability to recruit and retain world-class engineers.
Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.
Experience developing, scaling, supporting, and maintaining complex, high-volume, fault tolerant software
Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
Excellent understanding of Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the English language
Technical experience in the following areas:
- Proficiency in software languages (C++ or Go preferred), software methodologies, popular frameworks, and best practices
- Experience with streaming servers (Shoutcast, icecast, Wowza,...)
- Knowledge of protocols as HTTP, RTMP, RTSP, HLS
- Experience with Amazon AWS services (S3, SQS, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, Athena …)
- Experience with other programming languages like Go and Python
- Knowledge of audio formats: MP3, AAC, MP4
- Experience with audio processing tools and libraries like Ffmpeg
- Knowledge of audio protocols: ICY, HLS
