The role, at a glance:
The Repair Technician determines the source(s) of failure on assemblies and printed circuit board assemblies deemed defective by electrical tests performed as part of the manufacturing process and is responsible for the repair by replacing components.
How you'll contribute:
- Troubleshoot digital and analog circuits down to the component level and specify needed repairs/rework
- Removes and replaces all types of PCBA components to IPC standards, including fine pitch and ball-grid array devices
- Visually inspects PCBAs and other product hardware
- Performs basic testing of PCBAs per established processes
- Complete material movement transactions in DAX shop floor control system
- Accurately record defect causes in quality records database
- Participate in continuous improvement projects as appropriate
You'll also assist with:
- Performing basic maintenance on tools and equipment
- Performing basic IPC rework and repair
- Adhereing to ESD practices as required throughout the operation
- Other assigned duties supporting product quality or production
A successful candidate should have:
- Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent experience
- Must be able to work Monday through Thursday from 5:00AM to 3:30PM
- Ability to read and effectively use schematics for troubleshooting purposes and perform testing of assemblies per established processes
- Knowledge of digital and analog audio electronics is a plus
- Proficient with basic electronic test and repair equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, sweep generator, power supplies, soldering iron, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and to be flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Basic use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Capable of working autonomously while supporting team goals and objectives
- May be required to alternate schedule to meet production goals
- Attendance is a critical function of this position
Work environment:
- This is an onsite position based in Tigard, OR
- Ability to life 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Sit or stand for long periods of time
- Perform tasks (that maybe be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stopping and/or bending
- Use tools that require fine hand skills
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Visually observe and differentiate small moving parts
- Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areas
